A Caldwell woman is accused of first degree murder.
Investigators say she viciously stabbed her boyfriend to death. If convicted she could face up to life in prison or possibly the death penalty.
46-year old Sherryl Sasenbery is facing some serious charges, first degree murder.
She's accused of stabbing her 66-year old boyfriend Walter Lisenbee multiple times with a kitchen knife.
Police said they found Sasenbery covered from head to toe with blood inside her Caldwell home.
Then they found Lisenbee's body, naked, also covered in blood in the bathtub.
He was already dead when police arrived.
"Ms. Sasenbery believed the victim was stealing money and reading her journal. She worried that he was going to leave her so she took this action in a way that she describes as self defense," said the Canyon County Prosecutor John Bujak.
Sasenbery told police she was attacked by her boyfriend first.
They wrestled a bit and both fell into the bathtub.
Police said a kitchen knife was nearby and she used it to stab Lisenbee.
Then she called 911 telling police she just killed her boyfriend.
"In a first degree murder case it's fairly routine that folks are held without bond," said Bujak.
Sasenbery also has several misdemeanor charges and 3 prior felonies.
"One for drug possession, one is threatening with intent to terrorize with a fire arm and a 2007 felony, a bad check charge out of Washington County in Idaho," said Bujak.
When Sasenbery was taken to the hospital police said doctors did not find any wounds on her body.
She will be back in court on July 2nd.
