A man faces a long list of charges after police say he crashed into two cars and fled on foot late Tuesday night.

Around 9:45 PM, a pickup truck rear-ended a car at the intersection of Franklin and Cole in Boise, police said. The driver then sped away. Investigators say an officer on patrol spotted the vehicle traveling at high speeds down Franklin Road. As he reached Overland Road, the truck slammed into a car making a turn onto Overland. The driver immediately jumped out of the truck and ran away on foot.

Police tell Today's 6 News that the officer and two witnesses chased the man down to a nearby parking lot.

"There was at least two different cars that stopped... The drivers got out and ran after the suspect" Said BPD Lt. David Adams.  "Again, that's something we don't necessarily encourage citizens to do because you can get injured. You don't know what the suspect might be armed with. But in this case we're thankful for that help."

Ryan Devisser has been booked into the Ada county Jail on a long list of felony charges including DUI, Resisting/Obstructing, Leaving the Scene of an Accident. He's also charged with a misdemeanor warrant and Possession of Marijuana.

Devisser will likely make his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon.

Adams said he was surprised to find there were no injuries in the second crash.

"It's amazing considering the amount of damage that happened in the collision. The way vehicles today, with safety features like airbags, seatbelts and the construction of the vehicle itself certainly helped out so there were no major injuries in the actual collision," he said.

Investigators are still looking for the driver of the car that was rear-ended in the original crash. That vehicle apparently left the scene before police arrived.
