Canyon County inmates are on the move, as jail leaders work to ease overcrowding. Since Monday the jail has moved inmates to new spots around Southwest Idaho. Prisoners have been sent to a number of jails in Elmore, Washington, Gem, Payette, and Owyhee County. The jail has a $250,000 budget for these inmate transfers, but the jail hasn't said how much of that budget has been spent this week. As of Friday afternoon there were 238 inmates at the Canyon County Jail.
