(Boise, ID) – The ECHL announced Monday that Idaho Steelheads defensemen Matt Case and Chris Hepp have been selected to the 2012 ECHL Silver Skater Fantasy Team, presented by the MeiGreyGroup.

Case and Hepp were selected in an online vote at ECHL.com to represent the Steelheads on the first-ever Silver Skater Fantasy Team.

Also, goaltender Jerry Kuhn has been selected as Idaho’s“Golden Goalie” for 2012.

The three players will wear customized jerseys during Idaho’s game this Saturday, February 25, against the Utah Grizzlies to commemorate their selection. If Case, currently on loan to the AHL’s Texas Stars, is not back with the team on Saturday, he’ll wear the jersey at his next home game in Boise.

The special jerseys – Kuhn’s metallic-gold jersey along with Hepp and Case’s silver-themed jerseys– will be available for auction via the MeiGrey Group between March 5 and March 22, giving all hockey fans the opportunity to bid on the game-worn memorabilia.

Alaska’s Wes Goldie and Dan Kissel (Silver Skater) and Adam Courchaine (Golden Goalie) will also wear the special jerseys on Saturday night when the Aces host the Las Vegas Wranglers in Anchorage. Players from Chicago, Cincinnati, and Trenton in the Eastern Conference will participate on Saturday night as well. Honorees from other teams will wear the special jerseys on other dates.
